This post is mainly for the non-Houstonians because if you've been anywhere near Houston in the past week you'll already know that the Azaleas have arrived and are in full bloom all over the place. For those outside out great city, these beautiful flowers come every Spring about this time and signify the front end of the heated summer months. Almost every house on our block has at least one bush and some have bushes all the way around.
There is an Azalea Trail sponsored by the River Oaks Garden Club every year showcasing the big mansions and the plethora of bushes in multiple colors, including Bayou Bend, the famous home owned by Ms. Ima G. Hogg.
