I Love Dinner Club!

You would certainly think that after my first post telling everyone that clothing is my passion, it may surprise you that this post is about the dinner club my wife and I belong to.  Dinner Club began almost 2 years ago and consists of 6 couples who happen to be very close and dear friends.  We hold Dinner Club every other month and the host couple is responsible of everything, including the wine offering.

Now what's cool about Dinner Club is that 5 times annually, we get to enjoy a first rate dinner on the fine china, an assortment of seasonal cocktails / wines and whimsical, laugh out loud, don't pee your britches lively conversation and stories!  Now, also what this means is that once annually you have to throw one hell of a good time with the finest meal you can conjure, which is generally quite fun and something we enjoy doing on a regular basis.

The December 2010 dinner was hosted by our wonderful friends Ruth and Scott Calabrese in their newly acquired Houston Heights bungalow.  They are initially from the Northeast and always give us fabulous selections from Italy...although I'm not sure Chocolate Mousse is Italian!

So to give you a feel for how dinner looked:

As always, the event was over the top and continues to be one of the most enjoyable social events on our calendar.  Just so I don't miss an opportunity to mention the fashion choices, this dinner was casual and as usual the ladies looked devine.  I went fairly conservative and paired a newly acquired Brooks Brothers shirt with Polo khaki's, a faux alligator belt and Cole Haan loafers sans socks.  (Note: perhaps a new authentic alligator belt will be under the Christmas Tree?)  The good news is that there was discussion of making the event at my house Black Tie! Very exciting!  I have a new Blackwatch Plaid Dinner Jacket just waiting for it's debut.  Sadly, we were invited to 2 black tie events this past weekend that we were unable to attend.
